Boomers Sign Outfielder Derick Andiarena
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – The Schaumburg Boomers have signed outfielder Derick Andiarena for the 2026 season.
Andiarena joins the Boomers after a standout career at the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), where he established himself as one of the top offensive players in the NAIA. During the 2025 season, the Puerto Rico native hit .371 with 75 hits, 66 runs scored, 17 doubles, 13 home runs, 63 RBI and 11 stolen bases while posting a 1.115 OPS in 54 games.
His performance earned Mid-South Conference Second Team All-Conference honors, MSC Academic All-Conference recognition, and multiple Mid-South Conference Player of the Week awards.
Andiarena elevated his game even further in 2026, earning NAIA First Team All-American and Mid-South Conference Player of the Year honors after batting .402 with 19 home runs, 89 RBI and 97 hits while helping lead the Patriots to another successful campaign.
A right-handed hitter with power and speed, Andiarena provides versatility in the outfield and adds another impact bat to the Schaumburg lineup.
