SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — It is with great pleasure that the Schaumburg Boomers announce that Kellum Clark has been selected as the Frontier League Player of the Week.

Clark played a key role in the Boomers 6-1 week by batting .538 (14-for-26) with six RBIs, eight runs scored, and two walks. The first-year outfielder recorded multiple hits in five of the six games during the week.

Clark's consistent production at the plate helped fuel the Boomers' offense as the club posted six victories in seven games, including a four-game series sweep over the Windy City ThunderBolts.

For the season, Clark is batting .350, the fifth-highest average in the Frontier League, with 70 hits. The Brandon, Miss., native has totaled 12 doubles, six home runs, 44 RBIs, and 42 runs scored while posting a .454 on-base percentage, .500 slugging percentage, and a .954 OPS.

The Boomers (34-32) are 24-13 at home and are headed to Pearl, Miss., for a six-game series against the Mississippi Mud Monsters before traveling to Sauget, Ill., for a three-game series against the Gateway Grizzlies. The Boomers return to Wintrust Field for a three-game homestand beginning Friday, Aug. 7, at 6:30 p.m. when the Mud Monsters visit.
