Salata Re-Signs for 2026 Season
SCHAUMBURG, ILL – The Schaumburg Boomers have re-signed right-handed pitcher Derek Salata, 25, for the 2026 season.
Salata, the Westchester, ILL., native, has been a major figure for the Boomers, joining the Boomers ahead of the 2025 season and quickly becoming a reliable option on the mound.
He recorded a 5.60 ERA over 21 appearances last season and struck out 102 batters. His year was capped by a complete game in the Frontier League Midwest Conference Finals that led the Boomers to a playoff series victory.
