Boomers Bring Back All-Star LHP Cole Cook for 2026 Season
The Schaumburg Boomers are proud to announce the return of left-handed starting pitcher Cole Cook for the 2026 season.
A native of Washington, Illinois, Cook has established himself as one of the premier arms in the Frontier League over the past several seasons. The veteran left-hander earned Frontier League All-Star honors in both 2024 and 2025 and was selected as the starting pitcher for the Midwest team in the 2025 Frontier League All-Star Game, further cementing his reputation as one of the league’s most reliable starters.
Cook delivered a standout campaign in 2023 while pitching with Joliet, where he was named the Frontier League Pitcher of the Year after dominating opposing lineups throughout the season. Since joining the Boomers, he has continued to be a key presence in the rotation, providing consistency, leadership, and high-quality innings every time he takes the mound.
During the winter, Cook added to his impressive resume on the international stage with Leones de León. He was named the 2026 Championship Series MVP after leading the club to a title, marking their second consecutive championship and showcasing his ability to perform in high-pressure situations.
The left-handed starter has been a consistent and dependable arm, logging significant innings while attacking hitters with confidence and command. His experience across multiple levels of professional baseball, combined with his proven success in the Frontier League, makes him a cornerstone of the Boomers’ pitching staff.
Cook’s return provides the Boomers with a proven, high-level presence in the starting rotation for the 2026 season.
