SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers have signed right-handed pitcher Tanner Shears for the 2026 season.

Shears returns to Schaumburg after pitching for the Boomers in 2022, prior to his contract being purchased by the Milwaukee Brewers. Following the purchase of his contract, the Modesto, California native spent time in affiliated baseball from 2023–2025, appearing across multiple Minor League levels within the Brewers organization.

Prior to beginning his professional career, Shears pitched collegiately at the University of Illinois Chicago, where he made 37 appearances across two seasons and recorded 63 strikeouts in 69.0 innings.

Shears adds experience and familiarity to the Boomers pitching staff as the club continues assembling its roster for the upcoming season at Wintrust Field.
