Batterymates Return for 2024

Manager Jamie Bennett and the Schaumburg Boomers are excited to annouce the re-signings of pitchers Aaron Glickstein and Jackson Hickert along with catcher John Fiorenza. 

Aaron Glickstein returns to Schaumburg after a productive second season with the team. in 2023, Glickstein posted a 5-2 record with an ERA of 3.20. Aaron spilt time as a starter, 12 starts, and as a reliever, 10 appearances. Over these 22 games, Aaron, a right handed pitcher from Dix Hills, NY, threw 90 innings while striking out 63 and walking 19 batters. In 2022, Aaron threw 92 inning compiling a record of 7-6 with 99 strikeouts. Prior to his time in Schaumburg, Glickstein pitched for the Lake Erie Crushers in 2021. During is college career at Stony Brook University, Aaron threw 82 innings striking out 54 batters and recording a record of 3-2. Aaron looks to be a key contributor on the mounds again in 2024.

Jackson Hickert makes his way back to Wintrsut Field after a solid first season with the Boomers. Hickert, a starter for most of the season, posted a record of 5-4 with an ERA of 4.99 in 16 starts. Jackson made 3 apperances out of the bullpen as well. Over the course of the season, Jackson threw 88 innings while striking out 69 betters.On June 8th at Wintrust Field, Jackson tossed seven no hit innigns against the Florence Y'alls and with the help of Antonio Frias and Dylan Stutsman, the Boomers threw the first no-hitter in franchise history. Prior to his time in Schuamburg, Jackson, a Ballwin, MO. native, played collegiately at Akron University. Just like Aaron, Jackson is looking to improve in his second season and be a big piece on the mound.

John Fiorenza is back behind the plate for his second season in Schaumburg after splitting time in his first season. Fiorenza played his first season of professional baseball in 2023 with the Boomers where he appeared in 37 games. John batted .221 with 2 homeruns and 12 RBIs. John split time with Blake Grant Parks and battled injuries as well. Fiorenza threw out 18 runners and was a wall behing the plate only allowing 3 passed balls. Prior to this past season, John played at Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL, where he batted .296 with 7 homeruns and 45 RBI's in 3 seasons. John looks to be the primary catcher for the Boomers in 2024.
