Boomers to Honor Q, Give Away Replica Staches

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Celebrate the second world championship in four seasons and give your upper lip that special Stanley-style tickle on Wednesday, July 3 at 6:30 p.m. when the Schaumburg Boomers will give away 1,000 scowl-ready, handsomely bushy and glorious white mustaches in honor of @CoachQsMustache’s big night!

“What a night it was for all of Chicagoland,” Boomers President/General Manager Andy Viano said.  “When hope looked lost and the series looked destined for Game Seven, one beautiful tuft of facial hair never lost hope and pushed our beloved hockey team to another title.  I think we echo the millions of other fans when we say how proud we are of that mustache and all of its teammates, and this is our little way of saying thank you for bringing all of us together.”

The free mustaches at the gates will be just part of the fun on July 3, as the Boomers will offer $2 off tickets for anyone who comes to the game with a fake mustache on and half-price tickets ($5) for anyone with an honest-to-goodness fully-developed mustache. The Boomers have also loaded the stache’s favorite song into their sound library and will be celebrating each Boomers run with the anthemic “Chelsea Dagger”. Plus, after the game the Boomers will celebrate Independence Day with a jaw-dropping fireworks show.

And of course, no night of celebration would be complete without the stache himself, so the Boomers have invited @CoachQsMustache and Joel Quenneville himself (we hear they usually come only as a package deal) to see the game as the Boomers guest of honor in a fully-stocked luxury suite, throw out a ceremonial first pitch and receive a very special gift commemorating the two championships.

Founded in 2012, the Schaumburg Boomers are Chicagoland’s fastest growing minor league sports franchise and proudly play as members of the 14-team Frontier League. Boomers tickets are on sale now for the remainder of the 2013 season by visiting www.boomersbaseball.com, calling (847) 461-3695 or stopping by the Boomers Ticket Office. Fans must show proof of mustache in person to receive the aforementioned ticket discounts.
