Sammy Fluck serves as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Schaumburg Boomers.   Sammy is Certified Athletic Trainer entering her third year with the team and sixth year in baseball focusing on the players' health and performance.  She also spent time covering the Grip and Rip baseball league and the Show Me collegiate baseball league in Missouri where she obtained her Masters in Athletic Training with an emphasis in leadership and rehabilitation at Missouri State.  Her specialty is muscle movement therapy and performance.

Prior to coming to the Boomers Sammy spent four seasons at Evangel University providing care to the Baseball, Soccer and Tennis teams as an Athletic Trainer.  During the Boomers offseason she works with baseball players to improve their muscle mechanics and works in the rehabilitation, treatment and training of athletes at Lake Forest College covering volleyball, women’s basketball, track/cross country, and softball teams.

Sammy is a current member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) holds several certifications, including the BOC Board of Certification, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilizations (IASTM), Rock Tape Certifications, and GOATA Certifications. Additionally, she has received advanced training in Functional Movement Systems (FMS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Vestibular/Ocular Motor Screening (VOMS) Assessment.  Sammy received her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota.

Sammy comes to the Boomers as an Athletic Trainer from the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute. She grew up in Becker, MN as a Minnesota Twins fan, loves to go on long hikes, kayaking, and finding a cozy hometown coffee shop for her morning pick me up.
